මේ වසරේ ගතවූ මාස 8 ක කාල සීමාව තුළ ලොව පුරා කොරෝනා මරණ මිලියනයක් වාර්තා වූ බව ලෝක සෞඛ්‍ය සංවිධානය පවසනවා. කොරෝනා වසංගතය ලොව පුරා පැතිර යාමත් සමඟ පසුගිය වසර දෙකහමාරක කාලසීමාව තුළ වෛරසය ආසාදනයෙන් මියගිය සංඛ්‍යාව ලක්ෂ 64 ක් බවයි විදෙස් මාධ්‍ය වාර්තා කළේ. ඒ අනුව ලෝක සෞඛ්‍ය සංවිධානයේ ප්‍රධානී ටෙඩ්‍රොස් ඇඩනම් ගේබ්‍රියේසස් ප්‍රකාශ කළේ ගෝලීයව සියයට 70 ක් පිරිසක්වත් එන්නත්කරණයට ලක් කළ යුතුව තිබූ නමුත්, මේ දක්වා ඇතැම් රටවල් එන්නත්කරණය සිදුකර ඇත්තේ සියයට 40 ක පමණ සංඛ්‍යාවක් බවයි.
