2022 වසර සඳහා වන බුකර් සම්මානය ශ්‍රී ලාංකික ලේඛකයෙකු වන ෂෙහාන් කරුණාතිලකට හිමිව තිබේ. ඔහු විසින් රචිත “The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida” නමැති කෘතිය වෙනුවෙන් මෙම සම්මානය හිමි වී ඇත. මෙරට සිවිල් යුද්ධය සම්බන්ධයෙන් රචිත කෘතියක් එම සම්මානයට පාත්‍රවීම විශේෂත්වයක්. එක්සත් රාජධානියේ ඉංග්‍රීසි මාධ්‍යයෙන් පළකරන ග්‍රන්ථ මෙම සම්මානය සඳහා සලකා බැලේ. ඔහුගේ පළමු නවකතාව වන “Chinaman” නමැති ග්‍රන්ථය 2011 වර්ෂයේ දී එළිදක්වන ලදී.
