ශ්‍රී ලංකා මැදි දුර ධාවන ශූරි තරුෂි කරුණාරත්න, මෙවර පැරිස් ඔලිම්පික් හිදී භාවිතා කළ ක්‍රීඩා ඇඳුම් කට්ටලයක් ස්විට්සර්ලන්තයේ Lausanne හි පිහිටා ඇති ජාත්‍යන්තර ඔලිම්පික් කමිටුවේ (IOC) ක්‍රීඩා කෞතුකාගාරයේ ප්‍රදර්ශනය සඳහා ජාත්‍යන්තර ඔලිම්පික් කමිටුව වෙත භාරදී තිබෙනවා.

ඒ, මෙවර ඔලිම්පික් උළෙලෙ හි කාන්තා මීටර 800 ඉසව්ව සඳහා ආසියාව නියෝජනය කළ ළාබාලතම ක්‍රීඩිකාව ලෙසයි.

වාර්තා වන ආකාරයට මෙරට ක්‍රීඩකයෙකුගේ ඇඳුම් කට්ටලයක් Lausanne හි IOC කෞතුකාගාරයේ ප්‍රදර්ශනය කිරීමට තෝරාගෙන ඇත්තේ, ශ්‍රී ලංකා ඉතිහාසයේ ප්‍රථම වතාවටයි.
