ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොලිසියේ 157 වන සංවත්සරය අදයි. ඒ නිමිත්තෙන් පොලිසියෙන් සර්ව ආගමික වැඩසටහන් රැසක් සංවිධාන කර තිබෙනවා. මෙරට පොලිසිය ශතවර්ෂ දෙකකට වඩා පැරණි ඉතිහාසයකට උරුමකම් කියනු ලබනවා. ශ්‍රීමත් ජී. ඩබ්ලිව්. ආර්. කැම්බල් 1866 වසරේ අද වැනි දිනක මෙරට පළමු පොලිස්පතිවරයා ලෙස පත්වුණා.
